FemChem

Do you know that more than 40% of all chemistry students at TU Wien are female? Which means that nearly half of the seats in a lecture hall or work space in a laboratory are occupied by a woman.

But by 2016, there was actually no full female professor at the Faculty of Technical Chemistry!

That was the time to take action and FemChem – a network of female scientist was born.

FemChem is a bottom-up initiative that enables networking for women within the faculty, constitutes a platform for the exchange of ideas, experiences and information, coordinates offers for continuing education and for academic discussion, and keeps in regular contact with faculty management.
